On a Sunday morning as a church the preaching has been focused on "Unity"

The teaching is centered around a simple principle "The closer we get to God, the closer we get to each other"

The closer we get to God, this has been described as PURITY and the closer we get to each other is described as UNITY

As Christians the word simply means Christlike so our intention is to be like Christ, to do the things he did and have the nature that he had, as we know Jesus was God's son and he had all of the characteristics of God placed into a human body, Jesus never sinned and therefore kept himself PURE. Below are 10 areas of the Christian life that at Bethany we are striving to be more like Jesus in:

1. Love God

2. Love each other

3. Genuine Worship

4. Prayer

5. Care for the poor

6. Personal Holiness

7. Biblical Doctrine

8. Witnessing

9. Fellowship

10. Leadership

For the 12 months of 2007 on a Sunday morning we are covering one of the above themes as Paul said in the Bible to the church at Phillipi "Make my joy complete by being likeminded, having the same love, being one in Spirit and purpose" - Phillipians 2:2
